What do we mean by persistent pain?
We mean pain that continues or keeps returning and affects everyday life. Its cause and significance vary by person. New pain or a clear change in existing pain needs its own assessment; we do not automatically attribute it to stress or a dysregulated nervous system.
Why do we also ask about sleep and fatigue?
Pain can make resting and sleeping difficult. You may lie awake longer, interrupt activities more often or find an ordinary workday demanding. We ask which limitation matters most to you. Waking less often, for example, is a different goal from being able to walk for longer.
- When do you notice the pain, and which activities are difficult?
- What happens to your sleep?
- What treatment, medication or support do you already receive?
- What specifically would you like to do with fewer limitations?
What if you have fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia can involve pain, stiffness and fatigue together. Diagnosis and ongoing support belong within appropriate conventional care. With us, you can discuss additional questions about sleep, energy and recovery. We do not present NESA, IHHT or red light therapy as a cure for fibromyalgia.
Complementary treatment needs a clear reason
We review your existing treatment plan and discuss what an addition would need to change. On the NESA page and the page about red light therapy you can read about the application and research. Findings from one study or technique do not automatically apply to your pain. We agree in advance when to evaluate your experience.
Do not change medication on your own
Tell us about medication and previous investigations during the intake. Do not stop or change prescribed pain medication because of a complementary treatment without consulting your prescriber. For new or increasing symptoms, first discuss the assessment needed with your GP or treating professional.
Frequently asked questions
Do you treat every type of pain?
No. During the intake, we discuss whether your needs fall within what we can offer. Sometimes assessment or support from another healthcare professional is needed first.
Is pain reduction guaranteed?
No. We agree a personal goal and evaluate even when there is no change. There is no fixed outcome that applies to everyone.
