Discuss recovery at Energy Clinics in Uden
An intake begins with your daily routine and the activities that are currently difficult. We choose a specific goal and discuss whether guidance, treatment or further medical assessment first is appropriate. Read more about our approach and the treatment options. A test or treatment is not compulsory.
What does recovery mean to you?
Recovery may mean recovering after exertion, participating again after illness or coming home from work less exhausted. These situations do not necessarily require the same approach. That is why we first clarify your question.
- Which activity would you like to be able to do again?
- How do you feel during, immediately after and the day after that activity?
- Which changes have already been investigated or treated?
Look at the following day too
Your response to an activity is not always immediately apparent. If helpful, note your activities, rest breaks and symptoms for a few days. This gives starting points for the conversation. The aim is to find a recognisable pattern, not record a score every hour.
Building up activity needs individual adjustment
With persistent symptoms after an infection, exertion can worsen symptoms. In ME/CFS, a fixed schedule with progressively increasing activity is inappropriate. Tell us if you worsen considerably after minor exertion; this requires assessment and an approach that respects your limits.
A goal you notice in everyday life
For example, being able to run an errand without having to cancel the rest of your day afterwards. We discuss a realistic first step and when to evaluate it. Any treatment is included only if its potential contribution to that goal is clear.
Frequently asked questions
Why does recovery not improve every day?
How you feel can vary from day to day. We consider the pattern and what you can do, not one good or bad day. New or increasing symptoms deserve reassessment.
Does difficult recovery call for a package with every treatment?
Not automatically. We first discuss your goals, health and capacity for activity. Only appropriate components enter the proposal.
Are your symptoms new, unexplained or persistent? Discuss them with your GP. Our introduction does not replace that assessment.
